Some experiments I did on photo transparencies with fluorescent ink. when overlayed onto a black and white photograph these produced a similar effect to the digital colourisation I have achieved in photoshop, but much dimmer and desaturated. Unfortunately the ink does not show signs of ever drying or fully settling into the plastic film, and the process of hand colouring on physical materials does not produce a particularly unique effect in this context. Perhaps this would alter the meaning of the significance of process and dedication in the work, but I think the digital process is tedious enough to communicate that anyway.
