Another of Fanny Cradocks publications i was able to source: Colourful Cookery, a booklet outlining recipes included in her television series by the same name. Unfortunately almost all of Fanny's television recordings were scrapped in the clearing of space in the BBC archive department, and so this booklet (and presumably transcripts of some kind) are all that remains of her first colour cookery show, suited to her flamboyant screen presence. Ironically, the booklet its self is printed in entirely black and white text.
A potential avenue of exploration here could be recreating or re imagining what these lost recordings might have looked like, sythesising and reappropriating the fragments of what she has left behind and colouring in gaps that have been erased or forgotten. I would however rather avoid "parody" where possible, not just out of respect also because she is so easily and frequently caricatured. At the same time I want to avoid simply making a "tribute" piece dedicated to her. I think this is boring.
