I have almost finished reading Fanny Cradocks biography, which gives interesting insight into her personal history and many prolific careers in performance, publication and television. She remains a central subject of fascination for me, and possibly an integral part of my project. She is frequently described by those who knew her as deceptive and dishonest about her past and her image. Seen as snobby she always insisted she was at least half french, and that she came from a very prestigious background, although her stories about her origin appear to change and warp constantly. Her character is plastic, and the legacy she has left behind captivating to me.
